Barefoot Divers offers a comprehensive Green Divemaster internship on Roatan, providing quality training at a PADI 5-Star IDC Center with extensive practical application and additional marine conservation initiatives. The PADI Divemaster Course is designed to train qualified rescue divers in how to control, manage and supervise groups of divers. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is certified as a PADI Divemaster and qualifies for PADI membership.  Divemasters are able to guide certified divers and assist with dive instruction.

Looking for a career that’s fun and exciting, a job that you want to roll out of bed for in the morning?  Becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor opens up an entire new world, where you can share your love of diving with others.  Barefoot Divers’ Instructor Development Course (IDC) will equip you for the 2-day PADI Instructor Exam (IE), as well as for confidently joining the ranks of scuba instructors, ready to guide students through the steps of learning how to breathe underwater.

Our IDC program can be taken on its own if you are already a certified PADI divemaster or equivalent, or you can opt to come to Barefoot Divers to do your divemaster training as well as other courses leading up to the divemaster course. Ask us about our pro-internship opportunities, and find a package that’s right for you!

Why become an IDC Staff Instructor?  If you’d like a new challenge in your career as a dive professional and would like to become involved with training pro students, the IDC Staff Instructor certification is an excellent starting point. Many dive shop managers and those in other leadership roles possess the coveted IDCS ranking.

With this qualification, you’ll be certified to:

•  Teach the Assistant Instructor course
•  Conduct portions of the IDC course (under the direction of a PADI Course Director)
•  Assist on IDCs, building your qualifications towards Master Instructor or PADI Course Director
•  Assist on instructor specialty training
